Mulodi Getaways is a fast-paced property card game where players collect destination sets and compete to complete them first.
Win the Game
Be the first player to collect 3 complete property sets and you win! Each property card shows how many cards you need to complete that colour set.
2-Player Mode: The first player to collect 5 full property sets wins the game.
Setup
Before the game begins, get everything ready:
- Shuffle all cards thoroughly.
- Deal 5 cards to each player.
- Place the remaining cards face down in the centre — this is the draw pile.
- Keep your cards hidden from other players at all times.
On Your Turn
Each turn has two parts — draw, then play:
- Draw 2 cards from the draw pile and add them to your hand.
- Play up to 3 cards from your hand. You may play fewer if you choose.
Plan your spending carefully and keep some money set aside for future payments!
How to Play Cards
There are four types of cards in Mulodi Getaways. Each plays differently:
Properties
Place in front of you. Match colours to build sets. Each set requires a specific number of cards.
Activity Cards
Add 1 activity card to a property to increase its rent value. Only 1 activity card allowed per property.
Action Cards
Play to affect the game — steal properties, swap cards, or disrupt opponents. Play into the centre to use.
Money Cards
Play face-up in front of you to form your bank pile. Used to pay other players. Keep your bank visible at all times.
Collecting Rent
Play a Rent Card to charge other players for properties you own and have played down. The more cards in your set — and the higher the activity card — the more you collect.
- Rent cards specify which colour sets they apply to.
- Adding an activity card to a property increases its rent value.
- Opponents must pay from their bank pile.
Completing Sets
Each colour group requires a specific number of property cards to complete. Check the card to see how many you need. Once complete, that set is locked and counts toward your win condition.
- 2-card sets: e.g. Botanical Gardens & Coco Beach (dark blue), UTB & UHOA (purple)
- 3-card sets: e.g. Arcadia Suites, Explorer, Protea (orange)
- 4-card sets: e.g. Bwindi, Murchison Falls, Rwenzori, Source of the Nile (black)
